TV interview with Dr. Sebastian Theopold: “45% of the ‘Mittelstand’ are at risk.”

Dr. Sebastian Theopold, founder of Munich Strategy, was interviewed by “Deutsche Welle” anchor Terry Martin. He explained what the German ‘Mittelstand’ will look like post-COVID-19 and if there will be a high risk of ‘Mittelstand’ companies falling into the hands of foreign investors.

Munich Strategy has analyzed the crisis resistance of 3,500 German ‘Mittelstand’ companies in the study “Stress test Mittelstand 2020”. The conclusion: Up to 45% of the German “Mittelstand” are threatened overnight, 10% of them were previously healthy companies. The ‘Mittelstand’ is facing a historic reorganization.
